1995 妹島和世と共にSANAA設立
1997 西沢立衛建築設計事務所設立
2001-2010 横浜国立大学大学院助教授
2005-2006 スイス連邦工科大学客席教授
2005-2008 プリンストン大学客席教授
2007 ハーバード大学客席教授
2010- 横浜国立大学大学院建築都市スクールY-GSA教授
